In coaching, one of the things I love most is that the better you become, the more you can serve your clients.
This is a relationship built on trust and mutual respect--as you grow and develop, they see the growth in the value you provide. And in turn, they are more loyal and committed to working with you. I attribute much of this success to having coaches myself--but the opposite is also true.
If you're stagnant and barely taking action, you'll find that it's much harder to attract clients. And if you do randomly get a handful of clients, your retention rate will be terrible. Mostly because they're not seeing results and they're noticing their coach isn't leveling up. Everything is visible today, so you can't hide.
Even if you're not posting, the fact they "can't see" what you're doing also says a lot about you. Lack of visibility gives the perception of inaction. Get to work!
1. Personal Growth Leads to Professional Growth
As a business owner, it's important to continuously level up and invest in your personal development.
Why?
Because everything--and I mean everything--is visible today. Your potential clients can see what kind of action you're taking (or not taking), how much you've grown (or stayed the same), and what kind of results you're getting (or not getting).
Most people want to work with someone who is consistently leveling up and growing. They want to see that their coach is walking the walk and talking the talk. And if they don't see that?
They won't hesitate to leave and find someone who is actively working on themselves.
So if you want to attract and retain clients, it's important that you invest in your personal growth. Continuous learning shows them that you're committed to becoming the best version of yourself--and as a result, helping them become the best version of themselves too.
2. If You're Not Growing, You're Dying
It's as simple as that. If you want to be successful in business (and in life), you need to be constantly growing and learning. Period. There's no way around it--if you're not moving forward, you're moving backwards.
So if you want to attract and retain clients, make sure you're always Leveling Up!
